This American made S-500 features an alder body with a sonic blue finish. The maple neck is G&L's modern classic 'C' shape, and it features a maple fretboard with dot inlays and a 9.5" radius. Electronically, this guitar is decked out with three G&L MFD (Magnetic Field Design) S-500 Single Coil pickups. These pickups work tonal wonders. They have all of the high-end shimmer and clarity of good single coils, but they never sound thin. They're like single-coils with the midrange definition of humbuckers. There's also a 5-way switch and a mini toggle that allows you to use the neck and bridge or all three pickups at the same time. G&L's tuners, the bone nut and the G&L Dual Fulcrum vibrato bridge keep everything in tune no matter what. A great design at an unbeatable price.
