The newest addition to Children of Bodom frontman Alexi Laiho’s ESP Signature Series is the ESP E-II Wild Scythe. The first thing you’ll notice about this guitar is its impressive graphic finish, featuring the album artwork from the band’s 2015 release I Worship Chaos on a black-finished body with red pinstriping. Made in Japan at ESP’s factory, the E-II Wild Scythe is a neck-thru-body design at 25.5” scale, with a comfortable alder body, and fast and smooth three-piece maple neck, and ebony fingerboard with 24 extra-jumbo frets (with frets #20-24 being scalloped into the fingerboard). It includes premier-quality features like a Floyd Rose Original bridge, Schaller straplock, and Gotoh tuners. The sound of the E-II Wild Scythe is powered with a single passive EMG HZ F-H2 humbucking pickup, offering vintage wound coils and a ceramic magnet for a great combination of power and dynamic response. It also includes an ESP MM-04 active boost, which is engaged via a toggle switch. The E-II Wild Scythe comes with a high-quality hardshell case.
